The New York chapter of The National Organization for Women accused
Senator Edward M Kennedy of betraying women with his endorsement of
Barack Obama. "Women have just experienced the ultimate betrayal,"
NOW's New York State chapter said in a scorching rebuke.
Barack Obama's timing could not have been worse. His thinly veiled
comparison of himself to Ronald Reagan comes at a time when the US
is poised precipitously at the brink of what may be the longest,
deepest recession since Reaganomics ushered in a two year long
depression back in 1982.
MALIBU, Calif. -- Rocking and rolling along a twisted twine of
asphalt in the Santa Monica Mountains above Los Angeles, we?re
playing all of the curves in crinkled canyons like Encinal and Zuma
through a connection to the Pacific Coast Highway at Malibu.
Alice L. Baumann, 86, of Watertown, died Thursday afternoon, Sept.
27, 2007, at the Watertown Memorial Hospital, from pneumonia,
following a major stroke. She was proud to have survived two
courageous bouts with cancer.
